Swami Satyananda’s yoga system combines asana, pranayama, mudras and bandhas with a whole range of meditations. It is a multi-layered and deep-delving practice system. This way of doing yoga has much in common with ancient hatha yoga traditions.
Postural sequences range from pawanamuktasana to classical poses. You do them slowly and with awareness.
These two meditation practices target focus and concentration. They make your mind sharp and one-pointed.
Practice long enough to achieve profound psychic relaxation. My sessions last two hours or more.
Breathing exercises bridge the physical and the mental practices. It’s an essential part of every session.
Yoga nidra deep relaxation has its roots in Satyananda Yoga. It is harmoniously incorporated into the practice.
With antar mauna meditation, you learn to quietly observe everything that passes your mind, rather than identifying with it.
In the Satyananda tradition we don’t show yoga poses. We teach physical yoga as well as meditation with clear and precise verbal instructions. Not having to look at a screen makes your practice deeper and more concentrated. I think audio is the best medium to practice yoga online.
MEET YOUR GUIDE
I am a yoga practitioner, a teacher and a teacher trainer. I have more than twenty years of experience as a full time instructor. I was trained by Swami Janakananda, one of Satyananda’s most prominent disciples.
I began learning yoga from a book when I was in my early twenties. It helped me immensely, and I decided to devote my life to it entirely. I moved to a Janakananda’s countryside yoga retreat centre where I lived for several years studying under his guidance.
Now I have taught yoga and meditation to thousands of people in many different countries. I live in Paris, France, where I am the leader of a yoga and meditation centre. My students keep telling me that it is hard to find the kind of yoga I offer. Therefore I created Forceful Tranquility so that people like you can get access to it wherever in the world they may live.
